Opening the Heart

I share some of my favourite essential oils to open the heart. It gives a sense of inner peace and keeps the heart open even though the grief can be heavy at times.
Essential oils:
Rose- invites love and compassion
Bergamot- opens the heart
Neroli and lemon- both invite love in
Roman Chamomile- promotes peace, love and compassion

An easy way to use essential oils is by using an essential oil diffuser. You can choose one of the above essential oils or make a blend of your choice. It is important to get the balance right and not use too much. For example in a 100mls diffuser you would use 4 to 5 drops or 6 to 10 drops for 200mls and 9 to 12 drops for 300mls. It is always a good idea to start with less drops and add if necessary.

A short affirmation for healing grief

I find affirmation helpful when I feel my grief is out of control and I need to feel more grounded. This is an affirmation I wrote many years ago and I hope you find it helpful too.

Silently repeat the following affirmation:

I am healing in my own time
I am at peace
I allow Love to enter my heart
I am whole

A Little Prayer for Hard Times

A prayer can sometimes be the only thing which pulls you through a dark day. The type of day where you are weighed down by heavy emotions that you can barely find the strength to get out of bed or face another equally dark day as the last.
A prayer does not have to be formal or associated with any particular religious belief. Saying a prayer when you are facing dark times can feel like gently opening the curtains in a dim room to allow a beam of light in.
Here, the meaning of prayer is simply going to the deepest and most silent place within you and connect to your inner knowing and wisdom. A prayer helps you to surrender to what is and stop swimming against the current for a moment. Within a prayer, strength can be found even though you are broken. It can bring forth a deep wish to re-establish inner peace and find clarity as you move forward on your healing journey.

A little prayer for dark times

May Hope guide my every step
May Courage fill my broken heart
May Faith be my light
May Love give me shelter
I am healing beautifully even in the darkest of days, today and every day

I will be water

I will be water
I will flow effortlessly through the land
I will nourish the soil I touch
I will bring life where life did not exist before
And may be
Eventually as I shape a new landscape
I will find my healing

I was inspired to write this last night, the words came floating to me and I had enough time to grab a notebook and pen and jotted it down.  I hope it inspires you to flow like water; to be fluid and free despite obstacles and heartaches.
